Viable Square
Synopsis
Rudy Keuni is a brilliant scientist and researcher. Like his father Roger Keuni, he attended the prestigious University of Oxford where he graduated at the age of 24. Afterwards, he became fully involved in a project that was once his father's: that of the viable square. His father, once a highly respected researcher and scientist, died after a long depression in total anonymity and solitude. His warnings were mocked by the scientific community and rejected by politicians for fear of the significant economic losses that would result. Rudy was the last of his father's four children. When his father died, Rudy was only 9 years old. He was the only one who was close to his father and had access to his research. It was then that he decided to pursue his quest. He did the same studies as his father and at the age of 24, he invested all his knowledge and savings in the viable square. It is a particularly square state of 7,000,000 km2 located in Africa that will soon become the only place where life will be possible on earth.
Note of intent
« Viable Square » is a long-running series about how humankind is struggling to stay alive in the 24th century. Roger had discovered the existence of a virus called Lachaniko (L). It is harmless to humans, but acts on plants by slowing down the proliferation of plant organisms. Roger had not been taken seriously by the scientific community, which was focusing on viruses that were more urgent in their opinion and directly attacking humans. Moreover, a lot of investments were made in this field. Politicians saw great economic risks through the importance of agriculture and various economic investments. This is how Roger was discredited worldwide, his studies swept aside and silenced until his death.

The film confronts us with current realities. That of the possible arrival of a virus that would completely change our way of life. That of the choices made by politicians between financial benefits, quick results and health of the population.

Driven by rage following the death of his father, Rudy received his research at the age of 9. Thirsty to prove to the world that his father was right and to take revenge on those who precipitated his demise, Rudy succeeded in developing a kind of antidote. He creates his state and becomes the God on earth, a man above the position of king, president or prime minister deciding who has the right to live or die on the whole earth.
