Our father
Synopsis
Van Laer is a 62-year-old gynecologist. His wife disappeared more than 10 years ago, leaving him alone with their 4 children. Today, he lives in a large house alone with his last daughter Alexia, aged 17. She has been suffering from an unknown disease for 2 years. Van Laer is very fond of his daughter, who is the image of his wife and therefore his last memory of her. He has sworn to do everything to save his daughter. One day, a police inspector pays them a visit. A hundred people had died in a strange way... their organs had exploded, leaving no superficial lesions. According to the inspector, Van Laer is the only common point between all these victims, except that there is no evidence to accuse him. Moreover, some people were found dead at the same time, hundreds of kilometers away, while Van Laer was at a filmed conferences on in vitro fertilization. Alexia, tormented by this visit and her father's perpetual secrecy, decides to investigate. What she finds out is beyond the limits of reality. Her father is far from being the one she thought she knew...
Note of intent
« Our Father » is close to a horror film without being one. It will be recommended to an audience of minimum 12 years. Certainly, there will be some scary scenes. The story takes place in our time, where mystical and scientific practices are intertwined, and beliefs diverge.

Many mysteries will have to be solved, starting with the origins of Alexia's mysterious illness, the disappearance of her mother Kannelle, the secrets of her father... Not to mention the reasons and the modus operandi of all these deaths.

Van Laer, who has already received several awards for his work in women's gestation, is a highly respected gynecologist in his community. He and his wife met when they were students and did everything together. She came from far away and Van Laer became her only family. The couple loved each other dearly. Since the death of his wife Kannelle, the family nucleus has lost all ties. Van Laer's three children, already older, have chosen to go away for their studies in order to forget this unfortunate event.

The theme and the plot are the unifying elements of the film. Well made, it will seduce all fans of mystery, secrets, investigations, but also horror.
